Hello! I’m Tom, the driving force behind Weterings Project Work, a dynamic venture where expertise meets versatility. As a seasoned Project Manager, Project Researcher, and Product Owner, I specialize in providing comprehensive consultancy services for companies in the Publishing and Education Industry.
Professional Journey
In my current role at Weterings Project Work, I’ve been dedicating my skills to navigating the intricate realms of IT project management, project research, and product ownership. I thrive in the dynamic landscape of the publishing and education sectors, offering solutions that elevate enterprises to new heights.
Prior to this, I served as the Team Leader for Data & Applications Management at Brill, a position that allowed me to manage an international team overseeing various enterprise applications. My expertise spans ERP-, accounting-, production systems and more. With a focus on innovation, I implemented new collaborative methodologies, integrating Scrum into our operations.
My journey with Brill also includes roles as Applications & Data Manager and Editor, where I played pivotal roles in implementing and maintaining XML standards, supporting content management systems, and managing production workflows for academic journals.
Educational Background
I hold a Master’s Degree in Editorship from the University of Amsterdam, with my thesis earning the prestigious Flemish-Dutch Award for Text Edition. Additionally, I hold a Master’s Degree in History from Leiden University, specializing in Medieval, Early Modern, and Dutch History.
Publications
I’ve contributed to various publications, exploring topics ranging from colonial life to cultural interactions in the seventeenth century. Notable works include “Colonial Life in Times of War” and “Should We Stay or Should We Go?” among others.
Hobbies and Personal Life
Together with my wife and our two daughters I live in Culemborg, the Netherlands. In my leisure time, I immerse myself in the world of wargaming, with a particular passion for Warhammer 40,000 and Necromunda. I’m also a skilled cartoonist & illustrator, channeling creativity into visual storytelling.
